Maarten Sengers Biography

Maarten Sengers is the founder of Albemeer, Inc.   He began his career as an export compliance consultant in 1993.  Since he entered the field, Maarten has advised companies world-wide on all matters related to US export compliance.  His particular expertise is in compliance with the US International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) , the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and the Office of Foreign Assets Control Regulations (OFAC).

His work includes evaluating and preparing export compliance programs, advising on international transactions, assisting in obtaining US export licenses or other approvals, and providing day-to-day compliance advice.  He is a frequent speaker on export compliance.  As the US rules impact global business, Maarten frequently works with companies both in and outside the US.  In addition to advising companies, Maarten also works with universities and professional societies on export compliance issues related to technical collaboration.

Maarten is also an active investor and trader.  He speaks fluent Dutch.  Maarten received his Juris Doctor from the College of William and Mary in 1993 and his bachelors degree in Economics, with honors, from the University of Maryland in 1990.
